Duties and Responsibilities

Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and

Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the deparhnent.

3.2. Carries out full range of clinical duties as assigned by the Director of

Radiodiagnostics & Medical Imaging and the Consultant in accordance with

individually approved clinical privileges.

3.3. To provide and maintain the highest attainable standard of diagnostic examinations.

3.4. To implement and strictly follow the radiation protection procedures.

3.5. To ensure that the requested radiological examinations are appropriate or necessary

through consultation with his superiors.

3.6. Rotates through each imaging sub-specialty as required by the Director of

Radiodiagnostics & Medical Imaging.

3.7. Will be required to attend clinicaVradiological meetings and all other departmental

meetings.

Participates in the on-call duties as required by the deparLment.

3.9. Teaches staff assigned for training purposes, and participates with the Director of

Radiodiagnostics & Medical Imaging and Consultant Radiologist in planning a

programme of career development for trainees.

3.10. Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Total Quality

Management Programme, Quality Assessment Improvement Programme) as

applicable.

3.11. Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to

continuing medical education.

3.12. Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects.

3. 1 3 . Deputises for the Consultant as required and shares workload in his specialty during

the absence ofhis colleagues.

3.14. Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice withregard

to morbidity and cost effectiveness.

3.15. Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated

3.16. Educates patients and/or families on matters relevant to ihe patient’s condition/s.

3.I7. Protects and upholds the rights of the patients and their families.

3.18. Participates in quality improvement and patient safety activities and attends quality

improvement educational activities as appropriate.

3.19. Adheres to infection control guidelines.

3.20. Maintains confidentiality at all times.

3.2L Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her

knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical

facilities.
