II. POSITION SUMMARY

One of the key enablers to our business growth is data-centric engineering that focuses on lifecycle data integrity and digitization to enhance the execution capabilities of Air Products’ mega projects. A critical goal is to increase the Company’s internal EPC execution efficiency by bolstering the organization’s automation capabilities and driving the full integration of systems and work processes used across the entire project lifecycle, especially construction. Air Products has a Build, Own, and Operate business model, from developing product lines, through EPC and Operations. It is therefore essential to continue building on our current global processes and systems under the leadership of an individual with extensive experience in EPC work processes and automation with a strong understanding of data integration. The Project Automation Site Technologist is charged with maximizing the efficiency of EPC execution by delivering the construction site automation strategy.

This position provides expertise in the field of Construction/Commissioning automation along with strong knowledge in data integration across the suite of tools Air Products is engaging. The position works under the direction of the Project Automation Manger and the Construction Technical Services Manager. 

IV. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Under the direction of the integration across the suite of tools Air Products is engaging. The position works under the direction of the Project Automation Manger and the Common Construction Manager:

Provide first line user support for the construction site suite of applications
Be the site single point of contact to pull in Air Product application specialists as needed
Provide support for mobile applications, tablet management
Interface with Contractors on their Information Management points

V. CRITICAL COMPETENCIES

Ability to learn new systems quickly
Ability to help others work more productively through application coaching
Knowledge of EPC systems in engineering design, document management, subcontract management, Construction Management, and commissioning
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong facilitative skills, including presenting to cross cultures and geographies.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of data management, integrity, digitization, and dependencies.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts,
Ability to decompose high-level information into actionable details.

VI. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Background in the information management of detailed engineering activities of process plants.
Knowledge of, configuration, and interoperability of engineering and construction tools.
Knowledge of the information flow between the automation tools.
Ability to bring teams together to achieve project targets and goals.
